Article Summary

Your care home's fees on carehome.co.uk overview

Your care home fees are some of the most important data-points to enter on your carehome.co.uk profile.  In a recent survey, fee information was the most important piece of missing data our care seekers were looking for on your care homes profile page. Adding your fee information data to carehome.co.uk promotes trust and transparency and complies with guidance from the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA)

How we categorise our fees

We only require fee information for self-funded elderly/dementia care.  To keep our fees organised in a way that's easy for a care seeker to compare different price points we ask that you provide your care home fees for the following categories:

  • Residential care
  • Residential care dementia
  • Nursing care
  • Nursing care dementia

You will be prompted to enter your care fee information for these categories if carehome.co.uk has your care home registered for them.

We will be addressing fees for other types of care in the future.

"Fees from" and "fees to"

When you enter fee information on your carehome.co.uk we ask you for both the care home "fees from" (the lowest price for that type of care) and the "fees to" (an indicative indication of what a more expensive fee for care could be with your care home).  If your care home usually indicates their fees based on the size of a room, you should write your lowest room price in the "fees from" field and the largest room fee in the "fees to" field.

Funded nursing care (FNC)

Please do not include any deductions in your indicative fee amount.  We will provide this information on your profile page to instruct the care seeker in additional information.

What to write in the "fees comments" field

In "Fees comments", you have the opportunity to provide more detail on your indicative fees.  Very useful information to include here is a brief outline of what is included in the price of the indicative fees and of course what is not included and is provided at an extra cost.  You might also want to explain your policy on top ups.
